Licensed in 1983, her initial experience in real estate was dealing with property owners and developers, in the search of developable properties for gulf front condominiums. She orchestrated the sale of the Regatta Condominium property and both the sale of the property and marketing of the 71 units of Royal Romar Dunes.

In 1984, Susan worked with J.P. King Auctioneers as site coordinator. Susan coordinated and supervised the advance marketing and prepared sites for auction. In 1985, she transferred her license to Gold Coast Realty, which later became a member of the Coldwell Banker franchise network. At this time her primary concentration was on the general real estate market, which included sales of condominiums, residential homes and home sites. This was the first of a 20-year term of building a datbase now consisting of over 1800 clients and prospects.

In 1992, during a particularly soft real estate market along the Alabama Gulf Coast, Susan joined Marr-Bell Construction as Director of Manpower Operations in Kuwait City. During this period she personally recruited workers from Nepal, India, Thailand, Pakistan, and the Philippines.

Susan returned from the Middle East and joined RE/MAX of Gulf Shores in 1995. Being among the early poineers of the team concept, John and Susan joined together in 1997 to form The A Team.

In Susan's 10 years of service, she and The A Team have consistently achieved the highest designation in the RE/MAX organization in terms of annual production, the Platinum Club and the Chairman's Club. In 2003, Susan was named as member of the RE/MAX Hall of Fame, an award based on overall production in the RE/MAX system. In 2005, Susan earned RE/MAX's Lifetime Achievement Award.

The A Team has consistently ranked among the top RE/MAX teams in Alabama, as well as achieving the "Best of Baldwin" designation from the Baldwin County Board of Realtors.
